The train has two GP35's, a GP30, a GP9 and another GP35. Also note the former ES-3 Class yard switcher #E57B boxmotor on display in the southeast portion of Chief Joseph Park, above the cab of 1504. E57B would later be moved uptown to its current location at the southwest corner of 2nd Street and Central Avenue. |

This viaduct was the steepest eastbound grade approaching Pipestone Pass (1.66%). The MilWest Annual Meet in Butte in 1998 visited this viaduct on our tour. |

Bicentennial SD40-2 #156 is leading train #201 past East Portal MT on December 20, 1975. Number 156 was painted in this scheme in November 1974. The Milwaukee was the first U.S. railroad to prepare a commemorative unit for the Bicentennial celebration in 1976. Number 156 covered most of the system in the few years it was painted in this scheme. It was supposed to always be on the point of the train but there is ample photo evidence that was not always the case. |
